FAQs - Are We A Good Fit?

No. Acupuncture should have a sensation (warmth, heaviness, ache, etc which indicates the elicitation of “De Qi”), however acupuncture should never be painful.

Acupuncture needles are 1/100th the thickness of a hypodermic needle used in medical offices, therefore once inserted, most patients do not know they are there.

The relaxation effect of acupuncture far outweighs any unusual sensations acupuncture may elicit upon insertion.

All acupuncture needles used are single-use, pre-sterilized, and are made of surgical-grade stainless steel.

The most common side effects of treatment are minor bleeding and occasional bruising. When performed by Registered Acupuncturists, serious side effects are extremely rare.

Depending on the ailment, the number of treatments required may vary. Most patients require weekly treatments for the initial 6 weeks.

Some patients experience relief almost immediately, while others may take a few visits before they notice significant changes.

Generally, acute conditions resolve within 4-6 visits.  However, if the condition is chronic, it may require longer to resolve completely.

After the initial course of treatment, many patients are seen on an as-needed basis, while others with more chronic conditions often continue treatment on a less frequent basis in order to manage their condition.
